Based on the Waverley Abbey Insight Day on Depression led by Chris Ledger, this book will help both those working with others through issues relating to depression, and those who are themselves sufferers. Drawing on Chris’s many years of experience counselling those suffering from depression and having seen the torment and despair that it brings, the book aims to help us understand depression better by reflecting on individual experience, psychological research and professional practice. It includes personal insight and practical activities for both the sufferer and the helper, and offers a holistic and God-centred approach to understanding and moving beyond depression.
